The study plan is available in the Academic information system of JSU in the modules

  • VSST178 Output sets for study programs – recommended study plans, information sheets, synopses of final state examinations, … of study program, subprogram.

  • VSST215 – Monitoring panel of the study program, i.e. presentation of all basic information on study program, output sets from AIS2, documents verifying concordance of the study program with standards SAAV.

The study program for the actual academic year is present at the web page of the faculty https://www.ujs.sk/sk/studium/studijne-programy/fakulta-ekonomie-a-informatiky.html.

The study plan of the program was adapted without corrections, the main subjects and conditions for standard ending of the study were preserved. Modifications of the Information sheet of the compulsory subjects or compulsory optional subjects (except actualization of the teacher, suggested bibliography or valuation of the subject which is not considered as a modification) were realized just concerning completion of knowledge, skills and competences gained in completion of the subject. It means that the students in all years have the same conditions of study.

c) - The study plan generally states:
  • individual parts of the study programme (modules, courses, and other relevant school and extracurricular activities, if they contribute to the achievement of the required learning outcomes and allow to obtain credits) in the structure of compulsory, compulsory optional and optional courses,

Study program is realized as an interdisciplinary study program in the study fields 22. Mathematics and 18. Informatics. Every graduate of the study program gains knowledge, skills and competences in at least one of these study fields. Student is obliged to earn in compulsory subjects at least 30 credits during the whole study.

In the collection of compulsory subjects there are ones related to one of the study field as well as others, related to both of them. Student chooses subjects to his individual study plan cooperating with his supervisor. In the study part of the study program must student earn at least 60 credits – besides compulsory subjects he must earn the rest of credits from compulsory optional or optional subjects.

In the scientific part of the study program a student must earn at least 120 credits. In the block of creative activities in the scientific area he can earn for some activities credits repeatedly respecting the rule that for a given output credits can be awarded at most once. A necessary condition to apply for defense of the dissertation work is at least one paper published in a journal registered in databases Web of Science or SCOPUS.

The final state examination consists of Preparation of the project of dissertation work and dissertation work together with Defense of dissertation work for which the student earns 60 credits together.

Subjects are specified in the Study plan.

  • profile courses of the relevant study path (specialization) within the study programme,

A student chooses one of the subjects Theory of teaching mathematics and Theory of teaching informatics according to orientation of his dissertation work and he must complete it as a compulsory subject.

This means that a for example a student oriented on the theory of teaching mathematics obliged to complete the subject Theory of teaching mathematics and he can complete the subject Theory of teaching informatics as a compulsory optional. For a student oriented on the theory of teaching informatics is the choice opposite.

As profile subjects are considered all compulsory and compulsory optional subjects of the study program. As it has been already mentioned, a student chooses subjects from the study part of the study program in his individual study plan in cooperation with his supervisor what guarantees the choice of optimal compulsory optional subjects, the closest ones to the topic of his dissertation work.

In the scientific part of the program a student earns credits for approved outputs of determined types of activities from the block of creative activities in scientific area. For specially determined activities (e.g. publishing paper in database WoS or SCOPUS) can student earn credits repeatedly, but only once for every one concrete output.

  • for each learning part/course the learning outcomes, related criteria and rules of their assessment so that the learning objectives of the study programme are met (they can be stated only in the Course information sheets, in the Learning outcomes section and in the Course completion requirements),

In information sheets of all educational parts/subjects are exactly described requirements on their completion as well as learning outputs (in detail characterization of outputs of knowledge, skills, competences) which gains student after completion of an educational part/subject.

  • prerequisites, co-requisites and recommendations for the design of the study plan,

Doctoral student in cooperation with his supervisor evolves every academic year own individual study plan according to the above described rules. This plan is approved in the beginning and its satisfying by student is monitored at the end of the academic year by the Field committee of the study program. The above described rules guarantee variability of the choice of subject according to the topic of the dissertation work of the student.

  • for each learning part of the study plan/course the applied educational activities (lecture, seminar, exercise, final work, project work, laboratory work, internship, excursion, field practice, professional practice, state exam, etc. or their combinations) suitable for achieving learning outcomes,

For every educational part of the study program/subject were determined applicable educational activities which are specified in the study plan and information sheets of subjects.

  • methods by which the educational activity is delivered – present, distant, combined (in accordance with the Course information sheets),

In information sheets of all educational parts/subjects are unequivocally declared methods of education. These are available in Academic information system of JSU in modules:

VSST178 Output sets for study programs – recommended study plans, information sheets, synopses of final state examinations, … of study program, subprogram.

VSST215 – Monitoring panel of the study program, i.e. presentation of all basic information on study program, output sets from AIS2, documents verifying concordance of the study program with standards SAAV.

The study program for the actual academic year is present at the web page of the faculty https://www.ujs.sk/sk/studium/studijne-programy/fakulta-ekonomie-a-informatiky.html.

  • outline/syllabus of the course,

Synopses of subjects form a compulsory part of information sheets of all subjects.

  • student workload ("extent" of individual courses and educational activities separately),

In preparation of educational parts/subjects of the proposed study program the students working load was harmonized in accordance with ECTS, in dependence on credits awarded and time range of the education. One work credit corresponds to 25 to 30 hours of student’s work. This represents a typical working load (actual time needed to reach results of education for individual students may differ).

  • credits allocated to each part based on the learning outcomes achieved and the workload involved,

In the case of educational parts/subjects with higher credits, where the subsidy per hour does not correspond to the working load of the student, they are defined next working tasks which are solved by student individually under supervision of the teacher and by subsequent proof of results of education listed in the information sheet of the subject.

  • the person responsible for the course (or a partner organization/person ) with an indication of the contact details,

Persons organizing subjects are specified in the information sheets of subjects.

  • course teachers (or participating partner organizations/persons) (may also be mentioned in Course information sheets),

Teachers of subjects are specified in the information sheets of subjects.

  • places where the courses are taught (if the study programme is delivered at several workplaces).

e) - For individual study plans, the institution states the requirements for completing the individual parts of the study programme and the student's progress within the study programme in the given structure:

For the presented study program:

  • number of credits for compulsory subjects needed to complete the study part is 30,
  • number of credits for compulsory optional and optional subjects needed to complete the study part is 30,
  • number of credits needed for opportunity to realize dissertation exam: 60 from the study part of the study and 20 from the scientific part of the study
  • number of credits for dissertation work and its defense needed for regular completion of study: 60 (20 for dissertation work and 40 for its defense).

f) - The institution describes the rules for verification of learning outcomes, students assessment and the possibilities of appealing against the assessment.

“A subject can be completed by a) passing it, b) assessment, c) examination” (item 10, parts 4-7, Study order JSU)

A student obtains passing and assessments of individual subjects after completing all prescribed obligations. In the case when a student does not fulfil all of these obligations, he can ask the teacher to obtain them in an alternative term. The alternative term is stated by the teacher. (item 10, part 9, Study order JSU)

Assessment of student’s study results within study of a subject is realized according to classification scale and criteria of attainment. (item 10, part 3, Study order JSU)

For a given subject in a given semester in which he/she has the subject entered, has a student a right for one regular and two alternative terms within terms announced and the schedule of academic year.

In a justified case, on a request of student or examiner the dean allows to realize examination in an additional term in front of a committee nominated by dean. For a commission exam it is possible to apply in writing on a study department of the faculty before end of examination period and the reason must always be determined. Commission exam is not an additional examination date, it must be realized among correction terms. The original examiner belongs to the exam committee as well as a representative of students with an advisory voice. (item 10, part 17, Study order JSU)

If serious circumstances (e.g. disease) inhibit the student’s presence on the exam, the student can ask for an alternative date of exam in writing form at latest 5 days after the end of study period. Dean fixes the deadline for the alternate date. The alternative date is classified as the date which has been altered. (item 10, part 18, Study order JSU).

The archiving method of documents proving meeting of educational outputs states the rector’s directive n. 4/2021 on archiving of documents proving meeting of educational outputs. It is available in Academic information system JSU.
