2. - Graduate profile and learning objectives
a) - The institution defines the learning objectives of the study programme such as student's abilities at the time of completion of the programme and the main learning outcomes.

The aim of bachelor's education in combined teacher education programmes is to prepare the graduate to continue his/her master's studies. Pursuant to Act No. 138/2019 Coll. on pedagogical employees and professional staff and on amendments and supplements to certain acts §11 the required level of education for a primary school teacher and a secondary school teacher is at least a university education of the second degree. Accordingly, the primary goal of the Bachelor's degree programme in Teaching of German Language and Literature is to adequately prepare graduates for the profession of teaching assistant

The graduate has a systematic and comprehensive set of knowledge in the field of pedagogical science, theory and practice, including broader philosophical, socio-cultural, historical-social and pedagogical-psychological contexts. The graduate in the position of pedagogical assistant is able to create equal opportunities in education and training according to the requirements of the teacher, educator or master of vocational education and in cooperation with professional staff, to assist a child, pupil or group of children or pupils in overcoming architectural, information, language, health, social or cultural barriers.

 

Learning Outcomes:

Graduates of the first level of the Teacher Training Programme in Teaching of German Language and Literature acquire a set of basic knowledge of the language and literary disciplines so that they can easily grasp the terminology and specialised explanations in the following years of study. He will acquire systemic knowledge of synchronic linguistics, master the laws of sound, orthographic and morphological, lexical and syntactic linguistic level of the German language. He will become familiar with generally valid and generally applicable knowledge from general linguistics and linguistic culture. He will understand the essential facts, principles and theories relating to the German language and its communicative function in terms of its historical development. In the literary component, the graduate will gain knowledge of the history and development of literature of German-speaking countries. He will gain an overview of literary theory and the poetics and aesthetics of the literary text. Graduates also have practical and methodological expertise in the key area of the field of teaching and educational sciences, which serves as a foundation for didactic practice and research.

Graduates of the bachelor programme in Teaching of German Language and Literature have cognitive and practical skills. He is able to apply linguistic, literary and didactic-methodological knowledge in various activities in the sphere of art and culture, is able to flexibly adapt his/her professional knowledge to changing conditions of practice, is able to be sensitive to the relationship between language and culture, is skilled in working with information, is familiar with the methodology and basic tools of processing primary and secondary literature.

 

Upon completion of the study programme, the graduate will have the competences  that enable him/her to carry out the activities of the future profession of a teacher, teaching assistant, editor, language proofreader, cultural and outreach worker. During the studies, he will acquire a wealth of knowledge in the subject specialisation and in the teacher's background and didactics. The study programme prepares students for professions requiring professional knowledge of the German language in various communicative situations of social practice. He knows the basic content of the disciplines of his specialisation, the principles of its structure, is familiar with the methodology of the production of the study programme content and its broader cultural and social context. He is able to apply linguistic and literary knowledge in school practice and in a variety of activities in the sphere of arts and culture, can flexibly adapt his professional knowledge to changing conditions of practice, can communicate effectively at the level of the work team as well as at the level of student groups. He can handle this knowledge and skills as a product of scientific activity, and in this context he can apply them in conjunction with the educational activities of a qualified teacher.


Graduates will improve their communication skills in the German language, both written and oral, and will be able to communicate effectively at the level of the work team as well as at the level of student groups. They will improve their presentation and rhetorical skills and gain organizational skills, digital skills, and hone their creativity.


The subjects of the curriculum enable students to acquire extensive linguistic, speech and intercultural competence in the German language, to communicate adequately in oral and written form and to transfer the acquired linguistic competence to the educational process. They provide knowledge of pedagogical and psychological, linguistic, literary and didactic-methodological disciplines so that the graduate is able to apply the theoretical knowledge effectively in practice. The structure and content of the study programme fulfils the description of the study field of Teaching and Educational Sciences in such a way that the profile of the graduate is in line with the profile of the graduate of this study field. The structure of the courses takes into account the requirements of professional training for the subsequent application of the graduate in the performance of future professions or for the subsequent continuation of the graduate at the second level of study.


The Teaching of German Language and Literature programme at the first level of study is designed to provide the student with a theoretical basis for the study, research and teaching of the German language. The content of the courses emphasises the contrasting of linguistic phenomena in relation to the mother tongue (Hungarian), intercultural relations between German-speaking countries and between German-speaking countries and Slovakia or Hungary, which are aspects that are then transferred into pedagogical practice. This orientation towards the basic disciplines enabling knowledge of the language, culture and literature of German-speaking countries and the methods for their didacticisation in the teaching process is reflected in the structure of the compulsory subjects.


The compulsory subjects of the study programme reflect the core knowledge topics of the field of study as well as the current needs of practice. They lead to the acquisition of bicultural or multicultural competence and pedagogical competence, which activates the European dimension of education, which includes not only diversified foreign language teaching, but also education for intercultural tolerance and respect for universal ethical values. The course Introduction to Linguistics, but especially the set of courses Theoretical Linguistics 1 to 4 is aimed at conveying the knowledge of descriptive linguistics; by completing them, students acquire a systematic knowledge of synchronic linguistics, master the regularities of the sound, orthographic and morphological, lexical and syntactic linguistic level of the German language. They will become familiar with generally valid and generally applicable knowledge from general linguistics and linguistic culture. They will understand the essential facts, principles and theories relating to the German language and its communicative function in terms of its historical development. The compulsory subjects Propedeutics of German as a Foreign Language 1 and 2 as well as the compulsory elective subjects Language Skills 1 to 4 and Language Proseminar 1 to 4 complement the core subjects and serve primarily to deepen knowledge in the area of practical language skills. The focus is on balancing discrepancies in the language level of individual students. An overview of the history of literature of German-speaking countries is offered in the course set Literature of German-speaking Countries 1 to 4, with a focus on the possibilities of applying the acquired knowledge in the teaching process. The compulsory subject Fundamentals of Didactics of German as a Foreign Language as well as the compulsory elective subjects Literature in the Teaching of German and Media in the Teaching of German directly fulfil the pedagogical focus of the programme with their theoretical content, in which the general principles of the process of teaching foreign languages and the acquisition of foreign language competences are applied to the German language. Within the compulsory elective courses Academic Writing and Creative Writing , students' skills and competences are further developed with regard to the skill of writing in the context of pedagogical activity. The Bachelor's Seminar course is designed to prepare students to write and defend a Bachelor's thesis.

The final examination consists of the compulsory subjects Defence of the Bachelor's Thesis and Final Examination in German Language and Literature.


By defending the final thesis, the student demonstrates the ability to independently acquire theoretical and practical knowledge based on the current state of science in his/her field and to creatively apply and develop it. He also demonstrates the ability to independently implement and evaluate a solution to a professional, practical or methodological problem in the field and the ability to formulate the conclusions of one's own research and recommendations for the development of a given scientific or professional field. The final thesis proves the competence of academic writing, while the resulting work is original, does not have the character of plagiarism, does not infringe on the copyright of other authors, and the rules of working with information sources and ethical principles of writing professional works were observed during its creation. At the defence, the student demonstrates that he is able to present the results of his work in an oral form.


The final examination in German Language and Literature verifies the general knowledge of foreign language didactics as a scientific discipline and its application to the German language. The final examination also assesses the demonstration of basic knowledge of the methodology and conceptual apparatus of linguistic disciplines on the basis of the compulsory courses offered, as well as knowledge of literary and theoretical contexts with regard to their use in pedagogical practice. In the oral exam, language and speech competence and language and speech culture in a foreign language are also assessed


b) - The institution indicates the professions for which the graduate is prepared at the time of completion and the potential of the study programme from the point of view of graduate's employability.

By successfully completing the Bachelor's study programme Study Programme Teaching of German Language and Literature, the student obtains a qualification corresponding to level 6 according to the Slovak Qualification Framework (SKKR). Proof of qualification is a university diploma (1st degree), a certificate of state examination and a supplement to the diploma.

On the basis of Decree No.1/2020 Coll. of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic on the qualification requirements for pedagogical staff and professional staff, in accordance with §2, paragraph 1 and Annex No.6, point 1, the graduate of the first degree meets the qualification requirements for the performance of the professional activity of a pedagogical staff member in the category of pedagogical assistant.


In accordance with the SKKR, the graduate of the first cycle of the study programme (SKKR level 6) will obtain a qualification and will be qualified for the following employment and occupation:

The graduate of the Bachelor's study programme Teaching of German Language and Literature is prepared for the performance of the profession of teaching assistant according to the Decree No.1/2020 Z. z. z. of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic on the qualification prerequisites for teaching staff and professional staff. Graduates of the Bachelor's study programme are prepared to continue in the subsequent Master's degree education and are eligible to perform the following professions: assistant teacher, or assistant teacher of primary and secondary schools, animator (lecturer) of leisure time, state and public administration worker for the field of education and culture, worker in the field of culture, respectively. the following are also available: education, culture, culture and culture, public administration worker for the relevant area, school administrative and methodological worker, advisor for the electronicisation of the educational process, advisor and assistant to senior citizens in the process of adaptation to new digital technologies and to the use of electronic services in public administration, etc.


Even assuming that the graduates will mostly continue their studies at the second level, they will be employed preferably in the southern regions of Slovakia (especially in the districts of DS, KN, NZ, GA, SA, LV, LC, RS, VK, KE, MI), where the employment opportunities are wide. In addition to primary and secondary schools, there are a number of private language schools in these districts, especially in the cities, where graduates can find employment as assistant teachers or assistants of teachers of German or in other education-related roles. Although no similar overview is currently available from Hungary, the "golden" triangle formed by the cities of Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna, where Komárno is also located, offers opportunities for graduates in the private sector in the field of education, given the high number of companies from Germany and Austria in this area. This includes in particular the in-house training institutions of large companies such as Audi in Győr.


c) - Relevant external stakeholders who have provided the statement or a favorable opinion on the compliance of the acquired qualification with the sector-specific requirements for the profession.

3. - Employability
a) - Evaluation of the study programme graduates employability.

In the labour market, the graduate will be employed in the performance of professions in accordance with Decree No.1/2020 Coll. of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic on the Qualification Requirements for Teaching and Professional Staff (and the Slovak Qualification Framework), while teaching of German language can be provided in the subjects stipulated in the State Educational Programme.


The applicability of individual study programmes at the Faculty of Education of the JSU is monitored by the Career Counselling Centre of the JSU through regular surveys among graduates. As participation in these surveys is voluntary, we can only rely on non-representative data to analyse the applicability of the study programme. At the time of writing, we only have data on 1 respondent who has found work in a graduate field.


b) - If applicable, indicate the successful graduates of the study programme.

We consider all graduates of a study programme who continue their studies in a subsequent master's degree programme to be successful graduates.


c) - Evaluation of the study programme quality by employers (feedback).
4. - Structure and content of the study programme
a) - The institution describes the rules for the design of study plans within the study programme.

The study programme consist of two parts:

1.    the learning part – lectures, seminars, practices and individual study,

2.    the pedagogical part - school practice

 

The bachelor degree study programme Teaching of German Language and Literature is an organic part of the field of study of Teaching and Pedagogical Sciences. It is intended to provide the first degree of higher education necessary for professions in the field of educational theory and practice.

The specific method of teaching, its criteria and required goals are described in more detail for each course of the submitted study programme, which is also provided in the course information sheets.

Each student creates his own study plan that complies with the requirements of the study programme leads to its successful completion and the obtaining of the required minimum number of credit points, in which:

-         by regular participation in lectures, he acquires basic theoretical knowledge in the field of Germanic linguistics, literary science and foreign language teaching,

-         by regular participation in seminars and exercises, acquires and deepens theoretical and practical knowledge in the above-mentioned areas; and solves the tasks assigned in the contact lessons by independent activities.

b) - The institution compiles the recommended study plans for individual study paths.

After the harmonisation the study programme Teaching of German Language and Literature in Combination (1st level) with the adjustment, the newly admitted students will enter the harmonised study programme at the beginning of the next academic year and will study according to the courses and rules after the harmonisation, while the students of the second and third year will continue to study the harmonised study programme according to the original recommended curriculum and the courses to which they were admitted. c) - The study plan generally states:

The student completes courses of compulsory subjects and choose courses from offers of courses of compulsory elective and elective subjects. The student will take the state examination in German language and literature in the form of a colloquium.


Profile subjects are: Introduction to Linguistics, Propaedeutics of German as a Foreign Language 1 and 2, Introduction to Literature, Theoretical Linguistics 1, 2, 3 and 4, Literature of German-speaking Countries 1, 2 and 3, Basics of Didactics of German as a Foreign Language, Bachelor's Thesis with Defence, Bachelor Examination in German


The information sheets of all educational parts / subjects clearly describe the requirements for their completion, as well as learning outcomes (detaily characterized the outputs of knowledge, skills, attitudes and autonomy) that the graduate will acquire after completing all educational parts of their study.


The continuity of the individual profile subjects is determined by the logic of the individual areas or disciplines within the study of German language and literature. The individual profile subjects consist of sets from the fields of linguistics, literary studies and methodology and didactics. The recommended study plan follows this logic, while the completion of individual profile courses is not conditional on the completion of prerequisites. 

Prerequisites and corequisites of the subjects of the state examination are the completion of compulsory and compulsory elective educational parts of the study program.


In the information sheets of all educational parts / subjects, the educational activity by which PF UJS ensures the achievement of the expected educational outcomes is clearly declared.

In most cases of educational parts / subjects, is preferred - lecture or seminar as educational activity, but due to the current epidemiological situation, we consider it necessary and natural to carry out the activities in the form of online learning activities.

Considering the characteristics of the study programme - teaching the subject German Language and Literature - it is recommended to complete a semester abroad as part of the Erasmus+ student mobility. Educational forms, such as seminar works or project work are natural forms of educational preparation of a graduate for a final thesis.


In the information sheets of all educational parts / subjects, the educational methods are clearly declared as regular with physical attendance. 


Syllabi of subjects, which are realized in the form of lectures resp. seminars, are formulated in the information sheets of the subjects.


When preparing the educational parts / subjects of the submitted study program, we took into account the workload of students, in accordance with ECTS, depending on credits and the time range in which the education will take place.


In the case of educational subjects with higher credits, where the hourly subsidy of full-time teaching was not in accordance with the student's workload, there are define learning tasks, assignments, outputs which are solved by self-study of student guided by teacher, like subsequent demonstration of knowledge resp. skills have been set out in advance in the wording of the assignment.

d) - The institution states the number of credits, the achievement of which is a condition for proper completion of studies and other requirements that the student must meet within the study programme and for its proper completion, including the requirements for state examinations, rules for re-study and rules for the extension, interruption of study.
In accordance with § 53 of the Act on Higher Education No. 131/2002 Coll. 3 of the UJS Study Regulations, the standard student load for the whole academic year in the full-time form of study is 60 credits, per semester 30 credits. In accordance with Article 6 of the UJS Study Regulations, the number of credits, the achievement of which is a condition for the proper completion of studies, for a first degree study programme with a standard length of study is at least 180. The conditions that a student must fulfil in the course of studying a study programme and for its proper completion, including the conditions of state examinations, the rules for repeating studies and the rules for extending, interrupting studies, are regulated by the relevant articles of the Study Regulations of the JSU.
e) - For individual study plans, the institution states the requirements for completing the individual parts of the study programme and the student's progress within the study programme in the given structure:

For compulsory courses, the student receives 122 credits. Of these, 116 credits are for contact teaching courses and teaching practice (50 credits from the first approbation, 50 credits from the second approbation, and 16 credits from the teaching basis), in addition, the student is obliged to take a state examination for 6 credits (of which 2 credits for the first approbation, 2 credits for the second approbation, and 2 credits from the teaching basis).


The difference may be 1-2 credits extra or at the expense of compulsory courses, but these are compensated by the offer of compulsory elective courses. The sum of credits for compulsory and compulsory elective courses remains constant: 175 credits.


For compulsory elective courses, the student receives 53 credits. Of these, 49 credits are for contact teaching courses and teaching practice (19 credits from the first approbation - from which the student writes the final thesis, 15 credits from the second approbation and 11 credits from the teaching basis), in addition, the student is obliged to pass the defence of the bachelor's thesis from one approbation for 8 credits.


Facultative courses are enrolled by the student within the teaching basis from the faculty-wide offer of facultative courses in the number of min. 6 credits for the Bachelor's degree.


180 credits are required for graduation, of which 79 credits from one approbation (from which the student writes the bachelor's thesis), 67 credits from the second approbation and 34 credits from the teaching basis.


The student receives 12 credits for the final thesis and the thesis defence (of which 4 credits for work on the Bachelor's thesis in the Bachelor's Seminar course, and 8 credits for the thesis defence).


The student receives 3 credits for teaching practice within the teaching basis.


f) - The institution describes the rules for verification of learning outcomes, students assessment and the possibilities of appealing against the assessment.

The assessment rules, criteria and methods are transparent, communicated in advance by the teacher, listed in the individual course information sheets. In the conditions for completing the courses, the learning and other obligations of the student during the achievement of the educational goals, the form of fulfilment of the obligations and the criteria for the assessment of partial outputs and products are clearly declared. The results of student assessment are recorded, documented, stored in the study department and archived according to applicable regulations. The rules and procedures of the evaluation process are declared in the Study Regulations of the JSU (full text with amendments).

 

During the lessons, students receive feedback and space from the teacher to correct mistakes, as well as guidance on how to eliminate them and achieve the set goal. Each student has the opportunity to learn of his/her assessment continuously formatively in consultation with the teacher and summatively through the AIS or through the Moodle platform. 


Students have the opportunity to take advantage of teachers' consultation hours during each semester of their studies. Students have access to teacher consultations, where examples of good practice show that students use tutorials to progress and achieve better results.

In case of unsuccessful fulfillment of educational preconditions, students have access to at least one regular and two corrective terms, they have the possibility to take a commission exam passed within three, The above regulations are declared in the JSU Study Rules and Regulations as well as other procedures and rules relating to awarding of credits, their collection and transfer. The administrative control of studies in the academic information system will be performed by the Study Department according to of the JSU Study Rules and Regulations.


g) - Conditions for recognition of studies or a part of studies.

The JSU Study Rules and Regulations clearly describe the procedures and rules for obtaining credits, their collection and transfer (under Article 11), which is in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System. Similarly, the rules and procedures for recognizing completion of subjects at another university are defined.

Rules and procedures for assigning, processing, opposing, defending and evaluating theses are declared and formulated in the UJS Study Regulations (full version with amendments), available from AIS of the JSU: Documents/UJS-Legislation/Internal Regulations, 2018, issue 8.


Study/research placement, which declares our support for both domestic and international student mobility. The JSU Study Rules and Regulations clearly describe the procedures and rules for obtaining credits, their collection and transfer, which is in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System. Similarly, the rules and procedures for recognizing completion of subjects at another university are defined.

In order to increase the proportion of Erasmus+ mobility participants, in cooperation with the faculties of JSU, the International Relations Department regularly organises Erasmus+ information events and workshops and offers personal or online consultations. Promotional materials, leaflets and brochures are distributed to JSU students.

The rules and procedures are formulated in the Rector's Directive No. 3/2014 on the organization of foreign mobility of students, teachers and staff within the program Erasmus + at JSU.


In the delivery of the study programme, JSU applies rules and tools to ensure the integrity of results and the prevention of plagiarism and other forms of academic fraud. Pursuant to the JSU Constitution, plagiarism is considered an offense and is subject to disciplinary action. JSU identifies violations of scientific integrity, plagiarism and other forms of academic fraud and implements measures to ensure that violations of these rules are not compatible with obtaining an academic degree. The rules and procedures are described in the Constitution of FOE JSU, the UJS Code of Ethics and the Disciplinary Code for Students are available in the Academic Information System of JSU.


In line with the current trend, the university systematically searches for and seeks to address students with special needs and has recorded an observable increase in the number of these students. Students with special needs are entitled to support services in line with their specific needs. JSU has a university coordinator to take care of students with special needs. The rules and procedures are formulated in the Rector's Directive no. 7/2016 on students with special needs and on the competence of the UJS coordinator for students with special needs.


As per the JSU Constitution, each student becomes a member of the academic community by enrolling in one of the study programmes delivered by JSU or one of its faculties. Based on the JSU Constitution, members of the academic community have the right to address proposals, comments and complaints to the bodies of academic self-government - the procedures and rules of which are defined in their legislative documents. Those enrolled in the study programme have at their disposal effective mechanisms for the review of complaints by which they demand the protection of their rights or legally protected interests that they consider to have been infringed or by which they point to specific shortcomings in the activity or inactivity of the institution. Complaints are reviewed in a transparent way, with the participation of student representatives. To those who filed a complaint, feedback is provided about the results of the review of their complaint(s) and on the measures taken.

b) - Characteristics of the study programme information management (access to study literature according to Course information sheets, access to information databases and other information sources, information technologies, etc.).

The library provides physical access to the literature for the study programme, at least to the extent of the compulsory literature listed in the course information sheets. At present, the JSU UL has more than 12,206 titles related to pedagogy, didactics and psychology and 693 relevant to the submitted study programme. The university library uses the DAWINCI library information system, which is a modern library information system that integrates the latest elements from server applications, database systems, document management and, in conjunction with library knowledge and experience, transforms them into a comprehensive multimedia library system. The system provides users with access to individual library collections through the OPAC Online Catalog via the website. The University Library of JSU just like other university libraries, is involved in the central register of admin system of publication activities for the needs of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Slovak Republic. Access of students and teachers to the necessary databases is also solved by remote access via CVTI SR. This approach provides access to foreign scientific journals available in the online databases of individual publishers. The university library organizes workshops that support orientation in publication databases and work with literary sources.

c) - Characteristics and extent of distance education applied in the study programme with the assignment to courses. Access, manuals of e-learning portals. Procedures for the transition from contact teaching to distance learning.

For the needs of distance education or education by a combined method, the university has 4 BigBlueButton video conference servers in operation. An alternative tool for distance learning is the MS Teams platform, as part of the Office 365 A1 for faculty package, which is available to all teachers and students. In 2015, an e-learning system based on the open-source LMS Moodle was created and put into operation at JSU. This system was partially integrated with the WeBWorK system in 2017. This complex system was also in operation in 2019. Moodle continues to offer the possibility of publishing study and additional materials for individual courses, the possibility of assigning homework and electronic testing of knowledge in the authorised zone. WeBWorK also makes it possible to automatically generate, assign and evaluate mathematical tasks. In addition to the possibility of cable connection, which is available in the halls of residence, UL and other selected places, students in all JSU buildings have access to the Internet via WiFi connectivity. The person's authentication (login name and password) is required to connect to the network. In 2016, a centralized print system was introduced, which is also available to students. Students have the opportunity to add credit to their accounts at the JSU cash desk.

d) - Institution partners in providing educational activities for the study programme and the characteristics of their participation.

In terms of providing educational activities on the study programme, the main partners are training schools, school facilities and training kindergartens, where the pedagogical practice of students of the Faculty of Education of JSU is carried out.

The Faculty of Education is contractually bound to more than thirty training schools in Slovakia. There are training schools not only in Komárno, but also in Dunajská Streda, Veľký Meder, Galanta, Nové Zámky, Rožňava, Kráľovský Chlmec, Bratislava, Šahy, Štúrovo, Veľké Kapušany, Kolárovo and Rimavská Sobota.


Within the pedagogical practice, students observe and analyze the educational process, learn to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the study of general-educational subjects, general and specialized didactics and gradually acquire the pedagogical skills necessary for the performance of the teaching profession. e) - Characteristics of the possibilities for social, sports, cultural, spiritual and social activities.

During their studies, JSU also provides its students with a stimulating environment. JSU effectively manages and operates JSU Halls of Residence (Dormitories), where it provides comfortable accommodation to university students with suitable conditions for quality housing with adequate hygienic standards and safety. In the area of the Halls of Residence there is a multifunctional sports ground enabling students to meaningfully spend their free time and play sports.


JSU also provides students with catering services in the building of the JSU Conference Centre. In the university's Sports Centre, students have the opportunity to play sports and carry out other leisure activities.

The university also aims to provide opportunities for cultural, social and spiritual activities. Young talents will find their place in the Cantus Iuventus choir. Students also have the opportunity to visit a chapel established in the Čajka Hall of Residence.  

f) - Possibilities and conditions for participation of the study programme students in mobilities and internships (indicating contact details), application instructions, rules for recognition of this education.

JSU offers its students foreign student mobility opportunities within the mobility programmes Erasmus+, Makovecz, CEEPUS and various internships offered by the Balassi Institution (Mobility Grants of the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary). 

At present, JSU has 118 signed bilateral agreements, memoranda and interinstitutional agreements with 63 partner institutions in 15 European countries as well as interinstitutional agreements in partner countries outside the EU in the KA107 framework.


The Unit for International Relations of Rector´s Office in cooperation with the faculties of JSU regularly organizes information Erasmus + days and workshops and offers the possibility of personal or online consultations. Promotional materials, leaflets and brochures are distributed to JSU students. At the same time, the Unit for International Relations of Rector´s Office regularly publishes information on its activities on the website and shares information to students, teachers and employees of JSU through the information tools of the university. Language support for students is provided through the online language support tool OLS (On-line Linguistic Support) within the program Erasmus +.

9. - Required abilities and admission requirements for the study programme applicants
a) - Required abilities and necessary admission requirements.

Admission to the bachelor's programme is without passing entrance examinations based on the academic results achieved in secondary school. Applicants should have sufficient language skills (at least B2 level of the European Framework of Reference) and knowledge of the realities of German-speaking countries, as well as the prerequisites necessary for the teaching profession (especially in the field of orthoepy). The faculty reserves the right to conduct a written language test in order to verify the applicant's language proficiency. 


b) - Admission procedures.

Pursuant to §27 (1) (i) of Act 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts and Article 11 (6) (i) of the Statute of the Faculty of Education of UJS, the conditions of admission to studies are clearly determined at the Faculty of Education of UJS. The Dean of the Faculty decides on admission to study. The admissions committee is an advisory body to the dean. The requirements for applicants and the method of their selection in the Bachelor's degree programme Teaching of German Language and Literature correspond to the level of the qualification framework. The general criteria for the admission procedure shall be reliable, fair and transparent. The criteria and requirements for applicants in this study programme are published in advance and easily accessible on the FoE JSU website. The admission procedure is inclusive and guarantees equal opportunities to every applicant who demonstrates the necessary prerequisites for graduation. The selection of applicants is controllably based on appropriate methods of assessing their suitability for study.

Admission to study is decided by the Dean of the Faculty on the basis of the recommendation of the Admissions Committee in accordance with the conditions laid down for admission.

c) - Results of the admission process over the last period.

Within the admission procedure for the academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 all applicants for studies at the Faculty of Education of JSU in the combined Bachelor's programme Teaching German Language and Literature on the basis of the recommendation of the Admissions Committee in accordance with the conditions for admission to Bachelor's studies at the Faculty of Education of JSU for the respective academic year were admitted on the basis of the results from secondary school without an entrance examination.


10. - Feedback on the quality of provided education
a) - Procedures for monitoring and evaluating students' opinions on the study programme quality.

Students can comment on the evaluation of the teaching process and teachers through anonymous online questionnaires, published in the academic information system. The possibility to evaluate the teaching process within

individual courses are generally used by only a small number of students, so these results cannot be considered representative. 


b) - Results of student feedback and related measures to improve the study programme quality.

Students can also comment on other activities that directly or indirectly affect the quality of the educational process. The following comments were the most frequently repeated by students:

▪ asymmetric concentration of exam dates

▪ poor teacher-student communication (only exceptionally),

▪ irrelevance of certain subjects from the point of view of the teaching profession

 

Student activities aimed at the evaluation of study programmes include the participation of student representatives in the meetings of the Dean's College and the Rector's College. Students also have an important space for evaluation of study programmes in the Academic Senate of the Faculty as well as in the Quality Assurance Working Groups.


c) - Results of graduate feedback and related measures to improve the study programme quality.

The identified deficiencies were discussed in departmental meetings as well as in informal consultations with the concerned teachers and measures were initiated to ensure that the examination dates were concentrated in accordance with the Study Regulations and any conflicts between the teacher and the student were dealt with transparently. Complaints regarding the alleged irrelevance of certain courses also form the basis for the development of materials within the framework of improving the quality of the study programme, i.e. the timeliness and relevance of these courses was discussed in the working group and appropriate changes were incorporated in the accreditation material (updating the curriculum and recommended literature, or replacing the course with a new one). A representative of the graduates of the study programme was also involved in these discussions.
