Graduates of teaching study programs have knowledge of the biological, psychological and social aspects of individual development and know and understand the concept of the institutional socialization process in broader social science contexts. Further specifics of a graduate of the first degree of the field are contained in the Description of the Field of Study Teaching and Pedagogical Sciences, which is found in Decree 244/2019 Collection of Laws on the System of Study Fields of the Slovak Republic.

The graduate's professional profile is formed by completing the following scientific disciplines: botany, zoology, cytology and histology, genetics, anthropology, physiology, ecology, chemistry and frontier scientific disciplines. The graduate possesses a broad spectrum of knowledge from key areas of biological scientific disciplines and other disciplines within the broader scientific basis that the study program has. He has basic pedagogical and professional knowledge and skills in research methods at various levels of the organization of living systems, which he can apply in solving practical tasks and performing essential work in experimental biology, school and extracurricular activities. Graduates of the program can solve problems of biological research and practical tasks of selected parts of applied biology and have knowledge and skills in research methods of living systems at different levels of their organization (molecule, cell, organism, population.).

The professional component of the study program profiles the knowledge, skills and competencies of the graduate in the following areas:

- Theoretical knowledge: the graduate possesses cross-sectional theoretical knowledge in the above-mentioned scientific areas and understands essential facts in biology, can apply them in solving selected tasks of basic and applied research, and understands the connections between biological scientific disciplines and other natural science fields.

- Practical abilities and skills – a graduate of biology teaching will acquire partial competencies for teaching biological disciplines; will be methodologically partially prepared for the transfer of knowledge from biological disciplines, and will acquire the ability to use methods of biological and selected chemical and statistical scientific disciplines work with devices, equipment and materials in the field of basic and applied biological research; critically assess the appropriateness of using methods and tools of basic and applied biological research; actively acquire information and use it in solving problems in practice; analyze and synthesize data obtained in experimental research in laboratories and the field, and based on the data obtained by research to propose a possible solution to the problem.

By completing the 1st degree of the Bachelor of Science in Teaching Biology in combination, the student will acquire the foundations for additional abilities and skills that will be fully developed in the master's degree and will enable them to acquire the competencies of team cooperation and the application of acquired knowledge in their own creative and work activities.

Other competencies of the graduate include the ability to solve tasks requiring relevant expertise, coordinate sub-tasks and take responsibility for these tasks, the ability to identify, evaluate and appropriately apply ethical, social and other principles to one's work, the ability to acquire new knowledge and actively expand one's knowledge independently.

The graduate has an insight into the broader context of upbringing and education and has mastered information literacy. He knows how to use his professional skills and knowledge, as well as pedagogical knowledge, in planning and implementing the educational process at school and in the field of interest and leisure activities. He is also able to orient himself in the organizational conditions of institutional education; therefore, he can work mainly in the supportive components of institutional education. Graduates of the SP teaching biology in combination are primarily prepared to continue their studies at the 2nd level of university studies in the relevant fields of study.

A graduate of the study program will receive complete first-level university education in the field of Teaching and Pedagogical Sciences and is professionally prepared to successfully continue his studies at the second level of higher education in the combined biology teaching study program.

A graduate with a bachelor's degree cannot work as a teacher; he can obtain authorization to work as a teaching assistant, a pedagogical worker for extracurricular activities, or a worker in a school support team. He can also work in the support components of institutional education, in the support components of education in non-profit and non-governmental organizations and the support components of work teams of galleries and museums in their departments with a biological focus. Due to the specifics of the combined biology teaching study program, graduates can potentially apply to the labour market as part of project teams with a biological focus.

To obtain a full pedagogical qualification, a bachelor's degree graduate must apply for a master's degree.

Graduates mostly continue in the 2nd stage of university studies at the Faculty of Biology in Combination (Mgr.). The minimum share of graduates is applied to the labour market, while the unemployment rate after graduation is also II. degree of study reaches 0%. The JSU Career Counseling Center also monitors information on the applicability of graduates of JSU study programs.

In the survey carried out in 2021, 342 graduates participated, of which 3 were graduates of the biology teaching study program in a combination of the first degree of study.

The respondents of this study program received their diplomas between 2013 and 2021.

33% of them continued their studies at II. degree, 33% got a job, and 33% are unemployed.

100% of employed respondents found employment in the division of their completed studies - 50% of them work as elementary school teachers (1-4th grade), and 50% teach one subject of study majors.

Feedback focused on examining the quality of the combined biology teaching study program is carried out continuously by the teachers providing SP. It is carried out individually during work visits of biology teachers and based on structured interviews between biology teachers, primary and secondary schools, Methodological and pedagogical centres and training school workers and teachers of the Department of Biology FE JSU with a focus on the quality of the composition of the study program and the quality of the profiling components of the graduates. The obtained information is evaluated during the working sessions of the Department of Biology by its members.

We asked the potential employers of our graduates to evaluate the quality of the submitted SP teaching biology in combination. The headmistress of the Lajos Tarczy Elementary School with the Hungarian language of instruction in Chotín (946 31 Chotín, Školská 332) gave us her assessment and opinion.

The study of the teaching study program in combination consists of three parts: the teaching foundation and two study majors. The subjects of the study program are designed to cover the topics of social science, pedagogical and psychological basis of teaching and subject of study majors.

The study program teaching biology in combination is intended to provide essential professional education in pedagogical theory and practice and selected disciplines of biology. The student of the study program, as part of fulfilling the requirements of the study program, or after completing it thoroughly and obtaining the required minimum number of credits, he creates his study plan, in which he chooses, in addition to the compulsory subjects, compulsory optional and optional subjects according to his critical professional needs and interest. Profile subjects are defined in the recommended study plan, a condition for completing the study program. The study content of the study program about the education of biological disciplines consists of theoretical and practical parts, which are carried out in various forms of education (lectures and/or seminars and/or practical lessons).

Within the framework of combined teacher study programs, the student enrols in all mandatory subjects of both study majors and the teacher's foundation.

The student must choose at least one of the offered alternative mandatory, optional courses in biology each semester, in addition to the bachelor's seminar, diploma seminar and teaching experience.

The student enrols in optional subjects within the teaching base in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, fourth and sixth semesters from the entire faculty's offer of optional subjects.

After harmonizing the study program of teaching biology in combination (I. degree) with the adjustment, newly admitted students will join the harmonized study program at the beginning of the next academic year and will study according to the subjects and rules after the adjustment. In contrast, the second and third-year students continue to study the harmonized study program according to the original recommended study plan and subjects for which they were admitted.

Within the framework of combined teacher study programs, the student enrols in all mandatory subjects of both study majors and the teacher's foundation.

The student must choose at least one of the biology study major courses from the alternative compulsory electives offered each semester beyond the scope of the bachelor's seminar.

The student enrols in other optional subjects as part of the teaching base in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, fourth and sixth semesters from the entire faculty's offer of optional subjects.

The information sheets of all educational parts/subjects clearly describe the requirements for completing them and the learning outcomes (detailed knowledge, skills, and competence outputs) that the graduate will acquire after completing the educational part/subject.

The prerequisites for the state exam subjects are profile subjects and completion of compulsory educational parts/subjects of the study program.

In the information sheets of all educational parts/subjects, the educational activity by which the FE JSU ensures the achievement of the expected educational outcomes is declared.

In most cases of educational parts/subjects, educational activities are preferred in a face-to-face format - lecture, seminar, and practical lessons. However, because of the current epidemiological situation, we consider it necessary and natural to carry out these online activities.

In the information sheets of all educational parts/subjects, the education methods are declared "face-to-face".

Outlines in information sheets of all educational parts/subjects are primarily implemented in lectures, seminars and practical lessons.

When preparing the educational parts/subjects of the presented study program, we took into account the students' workload, following the European system of transfer and collection of credits, depending on the assigned credits and the time frame in which the education will take place.

In the case of educational parts/subjects with higher credits, where the one-hour subsidy of face-to-face teaching was not to the student's workload, the declared learning tasks, assignments, and outputs are solved by the student through controlled self-study under the guidance of the teacher, and subsequent demonstration of knowledge or skills that were predetermined in the wording of the assignments.

For compulsory subjects, the student receives 122 credits. Of these, 116 credits are for contact teaching subjects and teaching experience (50 credits from the first study major, 50 from the second study major, and 16 from the teacher's foundation); in addition, the student must pass the state exam for six credits (of which two credits for the first study major, two for the second study major, and two from the teaching base).

In individual study majors, the difference may be 1-2 extra credits or at the expense of compulsory subjects, but the offer of compulsory optional subjects compensates for these. The sum of credits for compulsory and optional subjects remains constant: 175.

The student receives 53 credits for compulsory optional subjects. Of these, 49 credits are for contact teaching subjects and teaching practice (19 credits from the first study major - from which the student writes a final thesis, 15 credits from the second study major and 11 credits from the teacher's foundation); in addition, the student must complete a bachelor's thesis defence from one study major for eight credits.

The student enrols in optional subjects as part of the teaching base from the faculty-wide offer of optional subjects in a minimum of five credits for bachelor's studies.

One hundred eighty credits are required to graduate, of which 79 from one study major (from which the student writes a bachelor's thesis), 67 from the second study major and 34 credits from the teaching foundation.

The student receives 12 credits for the final thesis and the final thesis defence (of which 4 for the work on the bachelor's thesis within the bachelor's seminar subject and 8 for the defence of the final thesis).

The student receives three credits for teaching practice within the teaching base.

Rules, criteria and evaluation methods are transparent, communicated by the teacher in advance, and listed in the individual subject information sheets. The conditions for completing courses clearly state the student's study and other obligations during the achievement of educational goals, the form of fulfilling study obligations and the criteria for evaluating partial outputs and products. Student assessment results are recorded, documented and archived. The rules and procedures of the evaluation process are declared in the JSU Study Regulations (full text with additions). The rules and procedures for archiving documents proving the fulfilment of educational outcomes are determined by the Rector's Directive no. 4/2021 on the archiving of documents proving the fulfilment of educational outcomes.

During the lesson, students receive feedback from the teacher and space for correcting mistakes, as well as guidance on eliminating them and achieving the set goal. Students can find their assessment in a continuous formative form in consultation with the teacher and summatively via Academic Information System or the Moodle platform.

Students can use the consultation hours of teachers during each semester of study. Students have access to tutor consultations, where examples of good practice show that students are using the consultation hours to progress and achieve better results.

In case of unsuccessful fulfilment of educational prerequisites, students have access to two remedial deadlines (in addition to the regular deadline) and can take a commission exam. The stated rules are declared in the JSU Study Regulations, as well as other procedures and rules relating to credits, their collection and transfer. The Study Department carries out administrative control of studies in the academic information system according to the procedures described in the JSU Study Regulations. The JSU study regulations describe the procedures and rules for obtaining credits, their collection and transfer, which follow the European Credit Transfer System. Similarly, the rules and procedures for recognizing the completion of courses at another university are defined.

Every year, following the Study Regulations of the JSU, the faculty publishes a list of the topics for final theses in the Academic Information System through individual workplaces no later than 30 May of the previous academic year. The topics of final theses are approved by the person responsible for the study program so that the sum of final theses at the first and second level of study, led by one employee, does not exceed ten in one academic year.

When approving topics, the condition must also be met that the supervisor of the final thesis has at least one degree higher university education or qualifications, such as a final supervised thesis (practice experts are the only exception), as well as ensuring that the written topic corresponds to the supervisor's scientific-pedagogical profile.

Study/research stay, by which we declare support for domestic and foreign mobility of students. The JSU study regulations clearly describe the procedures and rules for obtaining credits, their collection and transfer, following the European Credit Transfer System. Similarly, the rules and procedures for recognizing the completion of courses at another university are defined.

In order to increase the share of participants in Erasmus+ mobilities, the Section for International Relations, in cooperation with the faculties of JSU, regularly organizes informative Erasmus+ days and workshops and offers the possibility of personal or online consultation. Promotional materials are distributed to JSU students, and information is regularly published through the university's information tools.

The rules and procedures are formulated in the Rector's Directive no. 3/2014 on organizing foreign mobility of students, teachers and staff within the Erasmus+ program at JSU, available from Academic Information System JSU Documents/UJS-legislation/Internal management acts, the year 2018, number 10).

In the study program, the university applies rules and tools to ensure research integrity and prevent plagiarism and other academic fraud. According to the JSU Statute, plagiarism is a misdemeanour subject to disciplinary proceedings. The college identifies violations of research integrity, plagiarism and academic fraud and implements measures to ensure violations of these rules are incompatible with obtaining an academic degree. By the current trend, the university systematically searches for and addresses students with specific needs and records a noticeable increase in these students. By JSU Statute, a student becomes a member of the academic community by enrolling in one of the study programs offered by the UJS or its faculty. As a member of the academic community, based on the UJS Statute, he has the right to address proposals, comments and complaints to self-governing academic bodies - the procedures and rules defined in their legislative documents. The study program students have effective mechanisms for reviewing initiatives by which they demand the protection of their rights or interests protected by law, which they believe have been violated, or point to specific shortcomings in the activity or inaction of the university. The review of suggestions is transparent and takes place with the participation of student representatives. Feedback on the results of the suggestions review and the measures taken is provided to the suggestions submitters. According to Article 11, paragraph 5, point c, of the JSU Organizational Rules, handling of the agenda of complaints, notices, suggestions and warnings is handled by the Control and Legislation Department of the JSU Rectorate according to Act No. 9/2010 Collection of Laws on Complaints.

The library enables in-person access to the study literature for the program, at least to the extent of the mandatory literature listed in the subject information sheets. Currently, the JSU University Library registers more than 12,206 titles related to the submitted study program's pedagogy, didactics and psychology and 1,293 titles related to the study major of biology.

The DAWINCI library information system is used in the university library, which is a modern library-information system, integrating the latest elements from the field of server applications, database systems, and document management and, in conjunction with the knowledge and experience of libraries, transforms them into a complex multimedia library and information system. The system provides users with access to individual library funds through the Online Public Access Catalog via websites. An alternative tool for distance learning is the MS Teams platform, as part of the Office 365 A3 for faculty package, which is available to all teachers and students.

From the point of view of ensuring educational activities in the study program, the main partners are training schools and school facilities where the teaching practice of students of the Faculty of Education of JSU takes place.

As part of pedagogical practice, students observe and analyze the educational process, learn to apply theoretical knowledge acquired during the study of general education subjects and general and specialized didactics, and gradually acquire the pedagogical skills necessary for the performance of the teaching profession.

JSU also provides its students with a stimulating environment during their studies. JSU effectively manages and operates the JSU Student dormitory, where it provides comfortable accommodation for university students, with suitable conditions for quality housing with corresponding hygiene standards and security. JSU offers its students foreign study mobilities within the Erasmus+ mobility programs, the Makovecz program, CEEPUS and various professional internships offered by the Balassi Institution (Mobility grants of the Ministry of Human Resources of the Republic of Hungary).

JSU has 118 concluded bilateral contracts, memoranda and inter-institutional agreements with 63 partner institutions in 15 European countries and inter-institutional agreements in partner countries outside the EU within the KA107 activity.

The Department for International Relations, in cooperation with JSU faculties, regularly organizes informative Erasmus+ days and workshops and offers the possibility of personal or online consultation. Promotional materials, flyers and brochures are distributed to JSU students. At the same time, the international relations section of JSU regularly publishes information about the activities on the Erasmus+ JSU website and sends information in bulk to students, teachers and employees of JSU through the university's information tools. Language support for students is provided through the online language support tool OLS (On-line Linguistic Support) within the Erasmus+ program.

According to the Higher Education Act, the essential condition for admission to a bachelor's degree is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary professional education.

The university aims to prepare high-quality graduates in accredited study programs. Accepting students who meet the demanding quality criteria is the prerequisite for achieving this goal. Applicants for the bachelor's degree program in teaching biology in combination are welcome to pass the matriculation exam in at least one subject from the educational field of Man and Nature. It is expected that the applicant knows the Hungarian language at a communicative level, but knowledge of the Slovak language or English is welcome.

The conditions for the admission of international students are the same as the conditions for the admission of citizens of the Slovak Republic. The procedure for recognizing documents of complete secondary education obtained abroad to continue studies in the Slovak Republic is governed by the Directive of the J. Admission to study is decided by the faculty's dean based on the admission committee's recommendation by the conditions set for admission—precisely, the admission procedure conditions corresponding to the study programs' specifics and particularities. At PF JSU, applicants are admitted to all bachelor's study programs without an entrance exam based on the results obtained during secondary school studies (average of end-of-year reports and matriculation report). If the number of applicants exceeds the capacity of the faculty, preference will be given to applicants with a better academic average. An applicant who does not demonstrate fulfilment of the primary conditions for admission to study at the time of verification of fulfilment of the conditions for admission may be admitted to study conditionally, with the obligation to demonstrate fulfilment of the primary conditions for admission to study at the latest on the day designated for enrollment.

In the academic years 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022, all applicants for the bachelor's degree program in teaching biology were admitted based on the results from high school without an entrance exam, based on the recommendation of the admissions committee by the conditions for admission to bachelor's studies at PF JSU for the relevant academic year within the capacity options of the study program.

The survey evaluation results are continuously presented on the PF JSU for each teacher and the head of the department, and the dean of the faculty through the Academic Information System - information about the evaluations, as well as accessible text evaluations, subjects and comments of students on individual subjects and teachers. Tasks related to the introduction, use, monitoring and reassessment of educational quality assurance are primarily dealt with by the Council for Educational Quality Assurance at JSU. However, the mentioned process of educational quality assurance is paid attention to at all levels of management of JSU, its faculties and other components.
