The description was prepared with the participation of Mónika Kulcsár, deputy principal of the United Hungarian Language Elementary and Secondary School in Bratislava, a history teacher representing the employer of the future graduates, and Vilmos Galo, historian of the Danube Region Museum in Komárno, representing the Association of the Hungarian Teachers of History in Slovakia.
Most of the graduates are history teachers in Slovakia and abroad. After graduation from the second (Master´s) university level, their unemployment rate is 0%. (Statistics on the validation of students are available at
https://uplatnenie.sk/?degree=V%C5%A0&vs=725000000&faculty=725020000&field=7801T00&year=2019).
Information on the validation of graduates is collected by the Career Advisory Centre of J. Selye University, which regularly conducts surveys on this issue. As participation in the survey is voluntary, we do not have representative data.
Our successful students include, for example, Dr Tamás Jóba PaeDr., who is the deputy headmaster of the Jókai Mór Primary School. The interview with him is available at: http://karrier.ujs.sk/2021/09/10/joba-tamas/
Some of our students have obtained their doctorates abroad, e.g. András Hajdú and Ildikó Bajcsi.
Feedback on the History Teacher Training Programme is constantly received through dialogue and communication with teachers in primary and secondary schools, teachers in training schools and staff in the Methodological Centres. The information thus obtained is evaluated at the History Department's workshops.
Potential employers of our graduates and the graduates themselves are invited to evaluate the quality of the proposed study programme. We received the comments of Mónika Kulcsár, deputy principal of the United Hungarian Language Elementary and Secondary School in Bratislava.
Employer satisfaction with our graduates is monitored by the JSU Career Advisory Centre. We are currently conducting a survey of our graduates who graduated between 2013 and 2021. The survey results can be found at https://www.ujs.sk/sk/ucitelstvo-historie-v-kombinacii
The (combined) Master´s Degree Study Programme in Teaching of History is an integral part of the Teacher Training and Education Science course.
The study programme provides the graduate (Master´s) degree required for the theory and practice of pedagogy. It is designed to broaden the students' professional knowledge of the twentieth-century history, with special emphasis on the history of the Hungarian minority in Slovakia and Slovak–Hungarian relations, twentieth-century universal history and the didactics of history teaching.

The Course information sheets clearly state the Course completion requirements for the appropriate subject, as well as the Learning outcomes that the student achieves by completing the course.
The overlap between the different profile courses is a result of the chronological structure of the subject. The prerequisite subjects for the state examination are the profile courses.
The information sheets clearly set out the educational objectives and activities through which the Faculty of Education of J. Selye University ensures the achievement of the expected educational outcomes. Among the educational activities, lectures and seminars are preferred in the majority of cases, but depending on the current epidemiological situation, education can also be provided online.
In the information sheets, the form of educational activity is clearly defined as „present”.
Syllabi of subjects, which are realized in the form of lectures resp. seminars, are formulated in the information sheets of the subjects.
When preparing the learning parts/courses of the submitted study program, the workload of students was considered, in accordance with ECTS, depending on credits and the time range in which the education takes place.
For higher credit courses, where the number of hours was not in line with the student's workload, tasks and outputs were defined and the student is expected to complete them autonomously.

Students receive 37 credits for the compulsory optional courses. This includes 29 credits for the proper completion of the subjects and pedagogical practice (13 credits from the first major specialization—from which the student writes the final thesis—, 9 credits from the second major specialization and 7 credits from the teaching foundations). The rules, criteria and methods of assessment are transparent and predefined by the educator, and are detailed in the subject information sheet. In the section on the subject's completion, the student's obligations in relation to the course of study and other obligations relating to the achievement of the educational objective, the form in which the course of study is to be carried out and the criteria for verification of learning outcomes are clearly defined. The student's achievements are recorded, documented and archived. The rules and procedures for students assessment are laid down in the Academic Regulations of J. Selye University. Students receive feedback from the educator during the course of their studies, as well as guidance and the opportunity to correct deficiencies. Students have the opportunity to obtain knowledge about their own assessment through personal consultations, the Academic Information System or the Moodle platform.
The student has the possibility to take advantage of the consultation hours during the semester. Experience shows that students take advantage of this opportunity in order to achieve better results. If the student fulfils the requirements for the relevant subject, he/she has the possibility of one regular and two remedial examinations (and, where appropriate, a commission examination). The rules for this and for the accumulation and acceptance of credits are set out in the Academic Regulations of J. Selye University. The administrative control of the Academic Information System is carried out by the Studies Office according to the rules laid down in the Academic Regulations.
The Academic Regulations of J. Selye University clearly describe the procedures for the achievement, accumulation, and transfer of credits, which are in line with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System. The rules for the recognition of studies completed at other universities are also defined.
The topics for the final theses are available on the following website:
The rules for the assignment, processing, opposition, defence and evaluation of final theses in the study programme are laid down in the Academic Regulations of J. Selye University, which are available in the Academic Information System (Dokumenty/UJS-legislatíva/Vnútorné predpisy, 2018, No. 8).
The University supports student mobility at home and abroad through study trips and research activities. In order to increase the number of students participating in student mobility (e.g. Erasmus+), the University's International Relations Department, together with the faculties, regularly organises workshops and offers face-to-face and online consultation. Students are also informed about mobility opportunities through the University's information tools. Information on the mobility of students, lecturers and staff abroad is provided in Rector's Decree No 3/2014 (available in the Academic Information System: Dokumenty/UJS-legislatíva/Vnútorné akty riadenia, 2018, No. 10).
The academic programme of the higher education institution also enforces rules to ensure research integrity, prevent plagiarism and other academic fraud. According to the Statutes of the J. Selye University, plagiarism is a disciplinary offence and will be subject to disciplinary action. The institution of higher education takes care to ensure that the integrity of researchers is not compromised and that plagiarism or other academic fraud does not occur, and has procedures in place to ensure that any breach of the rules is incompatible with the award of an academic degree. These rules and procedures are set out in the Statute of J. Selye University (available in the Academic Information System: Dokumenty/UJS-legislatíva/Vnútorné predpisy, 2013, No. 11).
In line with the current trend, the university systematically searches for and seeks to address students with special needs and has recorded an observable increase in the number of these students. Students with special needs are entitled to support services in line with their specific needs. JSU has a university coordinator to take care of students with special needs. The rules and procedures are formulated in the Rector's Directive no. 7/2016 on students with special needs and on the competence of the JSU coordinator for students with special needs.
As per the JSU Constitution, each student becomes a member of the academic community by enrolling in one of the study programmes delivered by JSU or one of its faculties. Based on the JSU Constitution, members of the academic community have the right to address proposals, comments, and complaints to the bodies of academic self-government—the procedures and rules of which are defined in their legislative documents. Students are represented in the bodies of self-government and in the advisory bodies of the faculty, the details of the participation of student representatives are discussed in their constitutions or rules of procedure. Those enrolled in the study programme have at their disposal effective mechanisms for the review of complaints by which they demand the protection of their rights or legally protected interests that they consider to have been infringed or by which they point to specific shortcomings in the activity or inactivity of the institution. Complaints are reviewed in a transparent way, with the participation of student representatives. To those who filed a complaint, feedback is provided about the results of the review of their complaint(s) and on the measures taken.
Information sheets of educational subjects of the submitted study programme were processed into the structure according to Annex No. 1 to the Decree of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Slovak Republic No. 155/2013 Coll.
