4. - Structure and content of the study programme
a) - The institution describes the rules for the design of study plans within the study programme.

The study programme has a standard length of 3 years. The study programme Mathematics Teacher Training in combination is assigned to study field 38. Teaching and Educational Sciences. The content of the study programme coincides with or is based on the description of the field of study and the supporting themes of the core of knowledge according to Decree No. 244/2019 Coll. are preserved, the setting of the study programme is based on the profile of the graduate of the field of study. The structure of the study plan and the content of the courses (Study Programme and Course Information Sheets) is harmonised in accordance with the Order of the Rector of J. Selye University No. 16/2021 Methodological Instruction for the Creation, Harmonisation and Adjustment of Study Programmes at J. Selye University.

b) - The institution compiles the recommended study plans for individual study paths.

The study plan of the study programme is available in the Academic Information System of UJS in modules:

  •  VSST178 - Output reports for study programs - recommended study plans, information sheets, syllabi of state exam courses, ... study programme, sub-programme,
  •  VSST215 - Monitoring dashboard for the study programme i.e. display of all basic information about the study programme, output reports from AiS2, documents to demonstrate compliance of the study programme and SAAVS standards.

The study plan for the current academic year is published on the faculty website:

https://www.ujs.sk/sk/studium/studijnne-programy/pedagogicka-fakulta.html

After the alignment of the Mathematics Teaching (Level I) SP with the adjustment, newly admitted students will enter the aligned SP at the beginning of the next academic year and will study according to the courses and rules after the adjustment, while second and third year students will continue to study the aligned SP according to the original recommended study plan and the courses to which they were admitted.

c) - The study plan generally states:
  • individual parts of the study programme (modules, courses, and other relevant school and extracurricular activities, if they contribute to the achievement of the required learning outcomes and allow to obtain credits) in the structure of compulsory, compulsory optional and optional courses,

The student is obliged to complete all compulsory subjects of the study programme and to complete as many subjects from the block of compulsory elective subjects of the study programme as to obtain at least 39 credits from the study programme (approbation), except for the subject Diploma Seminar (according to the order of the Rector of the J. Selye University No. 16/2021 Methodological Instruction for the Creation, Harmonisation and Modification of Study Programmes at the J. Selye University). There are no elective subjects in the SP. The Diploma Seminar course is assigned to the subject from which the student is writing the diploma thesis - and therefore credit will be given in this study programme if the student is writing a diploma thesis in mathematics. The same applies to the subject of the state examination: thesis defence. In order to complete the study programme properly, the state examination of the SP must also be taken.

The subjects of the study programme are listed in the Study Plan.

  • profile courses of the relevant study path (specialization) within the study programme,

Profile subjects of the study programme (approbations) are compulsory subjects of the study programme (listed in the Study Plan).

  • for each learning part/course the learning outcomes, related criteria and rules of their assessment so that the learning objectives of the study programme are met (they can be stated only in the Course information sheets, in the Learning outcomes section and in the Course completion requirements),

In information sheets of all educational parts/subjects are exactly described requirements on their completion as well as learning outputs (in detail characterization of outputs of knowledge, skills, competences) which gains student after completion of an educational part/subject.

  • prerequisites, co-requisites and recommendations for the design of the study plan

The prerequisites for the subjects of the state examination are profile subjects and completion of the compulsory educational parts/subjects of the study programme.

  • for each learning part of the study plan/course the applied educational activities (lecture, seminar, exercise, final work, project work, laboratory work, internship, excursion, field practice, professional practice, state exam, etc. or their combinations) suitable for achieving learning outcomes,

The information sheets of all educational units/subjects clearly declare the educational activity as well as the forms of its implementation, which ensures the achievement of the expected learning outcomes.

In the majority of cases of educational units/subjects, the educational activity - lecture and/or seminar - is preferred; subjects such as teaching practice, Bachelor’s Thesis and state examination subjects are dealt with in other forms.

  • methods by which the educational activity is delivered – present, distant, combined (in accordance with the Course information sheets),

In the information sheets of all educational parts/subjects, the method of education is clearly declared as "face-to-face", however, in view of the current epidemiological situation, we consider it necessary and natural to carry out the given educational activities in a distance and/or combined method, if necessary.

  • outline/syllabus of the course,

Ouutline/syllabus a compulsory part of the information sheets of all courses.

  • student workload ("extent" of individual courses and educational activities separately),

In the preparation of the educational parts/subjects of the submitted study programme, we have taken into account the workload of students, in accordance with the ECTS, depending on the credits allocated and the time scale in which the education will take place. One credit corresponds to 25 to 30 hours of student work (according to the Order of the Rector of J. Selye University No. 16/2021 Methodological instruction for the creation, harmonisation and modification of study programmes at J. Selye University). This represents a typical workload (the actual time required to achieve the learning outcomes may vary from student to student).

  • credits allocated to each part based on the learning outcomes achieved and the workload involved,

In the case of higher-credit educational units/subjects where the hourly allocation of full-time teaching is not in line with the student's workload, additional learning tasks are defined, which are solved by the student through guided self-study under the guidance of the teacher, and subsequent demonstration of the learning outcomes, which have been set out in the course information sheet.

  • the person responsible for the course (or a partner organization/person ) with an indication of the contact details,

Persons organizing subjects are specified in the information sheets of subjects.

  • course teachers (or participating partner organizations/persons) (may also be mentioned in Course information sheets),

Teachers of subjects are specified in the information sheets of subjects.

  • miesto uskutočňovania predmetu (ak sa študijný programu uskutočňuje na viacerých pracoviskách).

The study programme is accredited at the PF UJS, provided by teachers of the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Economics and Informatics of UJS and is carried out at UJS in Komárno.

h) - Study advisor of the study programme (indicating contact details and information on the access to counseling and on the schedule of consultations).

The University employs study advisors to provide students with an advisory service when drawing up their study plans. The Dean appoints and dismisses the study advisor from among the university teachers.

The study adviser is an adviser to students on matters relating to their studies (e.g. drawing up a student's study plan, etc.). The study advisor is in contact with the group of students entrusted to him/her and helps to solve their study problems in cooperation with the heads of the individual departments and the vice-deans of the faculties.

i) - Other supporting staff of the study programme – assigned study officer, career counselor, administration, accommodation department, etc. (with contact details).

Study referent: Zsuzsanna Farkas, farkasz@ujs.sk

8. - Spatial, material, and technical provision of the study programme and support
b) - Characteristics of the study programme information management (access to study literature according to Course information sheets, access to information databases and other information sources, information technologies, etc.).

The University Library of J. Selye University provides access to the study literature for the study programme, at least to the extent of the compulsory literature listed in the course information sheets. At present, the UJS University of Applied Sciences holds more than 12 206 titles related to pedagogy, didactics and psychology of the submitted study programme and related to the field of study. Library website: http://uk.ujs.sk/

UJS uses the library information system DAWINCI - library-information system, the system provides users with access to individual library collections through the OnLine catalogue OPAC via a web interface. The record of readers is kept through the UJS student/employee ID card.

Access to electronic databases: under the auspices of CVTI SR, selected database collections of electronic information resources are made available. Access of students and lecturers to the necessary databases is also solved by remote access via CVTI SR. Access to foreign scientific journals available in the on-line databases of individual publishers is also provided through this access.

c) - Characteristics and extent of distance education applied in the study programme with the assignment to courses. Access, manuals of e-learning portals. Procedures for the transition from contact teaching to distance learning.

At UJS is the access secured by the system of identification of persons allowing them access to individual information systems and electronic servises based on uniquely given login data (login name and password). A part of this solution is also the identification card based on contactless smart card (identification card of student or employee). These cards are used in printing system, eating system and at the same time they enable access to the rooms equipped with secure access system.

For needs of distance education or education in the combined form the university uses four servers with video conference system BigBlueButton. FEI JSU uses for security of activities the following:

bigbluebutton.ujs.sk/b – access is possible also without authorization (name and password)

bbbgik.ujs.sk/b –only authorized access (name and password).

An alternative means for distance study is the platform MS Teams as a part of package Office 365 being at disposal for all students and teachers.

Yet in the year 2015 was at JSU activated e-learniung system based on open-source LMS Moodle. This system was in the year 2017 partially integrated with the system WebWork and in the year 2021 innovated to the new version. E-learning system is managed by Center of Information Services JSU (http://support.ujs.sk/sk/). E-learning system is accessible at the address e-learning.ujs.sk.

Besides the possibility of cable connection being at disposal in the School dormitrory, University Library and at other places, students have WIFI connection in all UJS buildings. Connection needs personal authorization by name and password. In the year 2016 was created central printing system available also for students. They have possibiklity to increase credit on their accounts in the cash desk of JSU.

d) - Institution partners in providing educational activities for the study programme and the characteristics of their participation.

In terms of providing educational activities on the study programme, the main partners are training schools, school facilities and training kindergartens, where the pedagogical practice of students of the Faculty of Education of UJS is carried out.

The Faculty of Pedagogy is contractually bound with more than thirty training schools in Slovakia. The training schools are not only in Komárno, but also in Dunajská Streda, Veľký Meder, Galanta, Nové Zámky, Rožňava, Kráľovský Chlmec, Bratislava, Šahy, Štúrovo, Veľké Kapušany, Kolárovo and Rimavská Sobota.

Within the pedagogical practice, students observe and analyse the educational process, learn to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired during the study of general-educational subjects, general and branch didactics and gradually acquire the pedagogical skills necessary for the performance of the teaching profession.

e) - Characteristics of the possibilities for social, sports, cultural, spiritual and social activities.

In the course of their studies, UJS also provides its students with a stimulating environment. UJS effectively manages and operates the UJS Student Homes, where it provides comfortable accommodation for the University's students, with suitable conditions for quality living with adequate hygiene standards and safety. The UJS campus includes a multifunctional playground enabling students to spend their leisure time and play sports in a meaningful way.

UJS also provides students with catering in the building of the UJS Conference Centre. In the Sports Centre of the University, students have the opportunity to play sports and implement other leisure activities.

The University also aims to provide opportunities for cultural, social and spiritual activities. Young talents find their application in the Cantus Iuventus choir. Students have the opportunity to attend the chapel set up in the Dormitory Čajka .

f) - Possibilities and conditions for participation of the study programme students in mobilities and internships (indicating contact details), application instructions, rules for recognition of this education.

10. - Feedback on the quality of provided education
a) - Procedures for monitoring and evaluating students' opinions on the study programme quality.

FEI JSU created and applied an inner system of ensuring of education quality at faculty level related to university rules. The prior aim of this system is ensuring, monitoring and development of quality of education from the global point of view of faculty activities.

According to § 70, part 1, letter h) of the law no. 131/2002 Z. z. on universities a student has a right to declare his opinion on the quality of education and teachers in an anonymous form at least once in a year. Students of FEI JSU have possibility have this possibility concerning each subject in their study plan and each teacher every semester, i.e. twice in a year. The anonymous questionnaire is available for students in AIS JSU.

After completing is the inquiry automatically evaluated by the system. It is done at various levels:

  • Level of the teacher – feedback in the case of study subjects
  • Level of the head of department – feedback in the case of all subjects guaranteed by the department
  • Level of vice dean for education and social matters and level of dean – feedback in the case of all subjects guaranteed by faculty. Written comments will be visualized after vice dean’s approval.
  • Quality assurance board of FEI JSU – discusses results of inquiries once in year
  • Academic Senate FEI JSU – discusses results as a part of Annual report FEI JSU
  • The scientific Council of FEI JSU – discusses Annual report of quality assurance of education at FEI JSU.

The results of inquiry yield actions performed on individual level.

We also received feedback from the results of the Academic Quarterly survey. The aim of the nationwide student satisfaction survey Academic Quarter Hour was to map the views of undergraduate students in first and second cycle studies/joint studies on teaching and conditions at their school. Thanks to the questionnaire, the Slovak Higher Education Accreditation Agency received feedback on how to improve teaching and study conditions at our school.

The results of the Academic Quarter Hour survey are available here:
